For 80 years, Bethany Care Society has been one of Alberta’s most trusted not-for-profit providers of continuing care, affordable housing, and community services for seniors and adults with complex needs.
Each year, we support more than 2,300 residents, tenants, and families across Southern and Central Alberta through 11 care homes, 14 affordable seniors housing sites, one life lease building and four Adult Day Support programs.
Guided by our mission of Creating Caring Communities® and our vision of Leading the transformation of Albertans aging well, Bethany provides the right care in the right place at the right time. Bethany’s Philosophy of Caring is woven into every interaction with residents, tenants, families, employees, volunteers, and partners. We believe caring is not just something we do — it is how we live, work, and connect in community.
Our unique Campus of Care model enables individuals to age in community as their care needs evolve, offering a continuum of independent housing, supportive living, and continuing care across our sites. We also provide specialized programs such as Complex Dementia Care, Alternative Level of Care, Palliative Care, Adult Day Support Program as well as a Young Adult Program for people under 65 with complex health needs.
Today, Bethany is advancing a once-in-a-generation redevelopment of our oldest care home, Bethany Calgary. The new care home, opening in 2027, will include 420 private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, organized into 14-room households following a small-home model.
