Membership Categories


ACCA currently has three (3) membership categories:

 

 

Voting Membership

Voting Member of ACCA shall be a person, partnership or other legal entity, as admitted to voting membership by resolution of the Board and which person, partnership or legal entity shall own or operate a continuing care facility or provide home care services in Alberta. Voting Members shall enjoy full membership privileges including the right to vote at meetings and to hold a position of Director or Officer of the Association.  Members in this category include:

  • Public, private and volunteer (non-provit) sector:
    • Long-term care facilities
    • Alberta Health Services contracted supportive/assisted Living - SL3,SL4 & DAL
    • Home care and support organizations
  • A Voting Member enjoys the right to vote at meetings, the opportunity to hold a position of Director or Officer of the Association, and full membership privileges including:
    • Government Liaison
    • Political Advocacy
    • Website & Online Services
    • Committees, Advisory Groups & Task Forces
    • New Partnerships
    • Networking Opportunities

     

    The cost of a 2011 Voting Membership is:

     

    Long-term care:$38.50 per bed

    Supportive/assisted Living: $38.50 per suite

    Home care & support: based on provincially funded hours of care & support per year 

                                         $500.00 for every 50,000 hrs

    Associate Membership

    An Associate Member shall be a person, partnership, firm, association or other legal entity which supports the purposes of the Association and wishes to be informed of the activities of the Association.  Members in this category include:

    • Colleges and Universities
    • Supportive/assisted Living facilities - lodges, SL1, SL2
    • Non-profit Organizations and Associations

    An Associate Member does not hold the right to vote at meetings or hold office in any capacity of ACCA, however, an Associate Member receives notice and invitation to the non-business portion of Association meetings and Annual General Meetings. Further membership benefits include:

    • Access to Information
    • Website & Online Services
    • Invitation to Member and Government Meetings
    • Communications

     

    The cost of a 2011 Associate Membership is:

       $800.00 per organization

    Corporate Membership

    A Corporate Member shall be a person, partnership, firm, association or other legal entity with an interest in the activities of the Association or its members.  Members in this category include businesses which offer the following products/services:

    • Health Care and Support Services
    • Insurance and Financial Services
    • Medical Supplies & Equipment
    • Nutrition and Food Services
    • Building Construction and Maintenance
    • Renovation Supplies
    • Health Care Textiles
    • Fire and Security
    • Communications
    • Pharmacies
    • Furniture
    • Skin Care

    A Corporate Member does not hold the right to vote at meetings nor hold a Director or Officer position with ACCA, however, a Corporate Member receives notice and invitation to the non-business portion of Association meetings and Annual General Meetings for networking purposes. Further membership benefits include:

    • Networking & Marketing Opportunities
    • Website & Online Services
    • Advertising Opportunities
    • Invitation to Member and Government Activities
    • Communications

    The cost of a Corporate Membership is:

    $1500.00 per Organization
