Excel Society

The Excel Society is a not for profit organization that provides both support and advocacy for people with mental, physical and developmental disabilities in Edmonton and Calgary. Excel's support comes in the form of a variety of choices in accommodation, programs of vocational assistance and recreation.

The Health Arts Society of Alberta (HASA) enriches the lives of elders in care by providing professional musical performances in care and retirement homes. A registered non-profit organization, HASA believes that, like all populations, elders in care deserve to have the joy and enrichment of music in their lives.

We work together with care homes to determine an affordable rate for performances as well as what genres of music work best for their residents. HASA then sources matching funds in order to pay top-level professional musicians according to American Federation of Musician standards (including pension). Our performers are full-time professional members of ensembles including the Edmonton Symphony and Calgary Philharmonic Orchestras. HASA is one-stop shop for care homes; we book your musicians, provide posters and gather feedback to make sure your residents have the best experience possible.
